Welcome to Ihnner ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience when using our mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account and use the Service, we collect the following information:
Account Information:
- Email address, phone number, username, and authentication credentials (managed by Clerk, our authentication provider)Profile Information:
- Name, age, date of birth, location (e.g. city), languages, gender, pronouns, height, photos, bio, and other profile details you choose to shareLocation and Geolocation:
- Location (city):
You may provide a city or location name in your profile. We use this to derive approximate coordinates (via a city lookup) for distance calculation when you have enabled location-based features.
- Precise location (optional):
If you choose to provide precise GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude), we store them to calculate and display approximate distance between you and other users. You are not required to provide precise location; you may use only a city or location name.
- How we use location:
When you enable "Use location for distance" in Settings → Matching & Discoverability, your location (city or GPS) is used to calculate approximate distance (e.g. "12 km away") so we can show distance to other users. When you enable "Show location and distance on profile," your city and approximate distance may be visible to other users on your profile. When either setting is off, your position is not used for distance and/or your location and distance are hidden from others.
- Your control:
You can turn "Use location for distance" and "Show location and distance on profile" on or off at any time in Settings → Matching & Discoverability. When off, we do not use your location for distance calculation and/or we do not show your location or distance to others.Preferences:

- When you report another user: your user ID, the reported user's ID, the reason you selected (e.g. harassment, spam, inappropriate content, fake profile, other), and any optional description you provide
- When you block another user: your user ID and the blocked user's ID, and the time of the block
- When you unmatch or remove a connection: we store the fact that the connection was removed for the purpose of hiding each other from discovery and messages
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we automatically collect:Device Information:
- Device type, operating system, device identifiers, and mobile network informationUsage Data:

2.3 Information from Third-Party Services
We integrate with the following third-party services that may collect information:- Clerk: Authentication and user management (email, phone number, user ID)
- Convex: Backend database and real-time data synchronization
- Sentry: Error tracking and performance monitoring (anonymized error logs)
- Expo: Mobile app platform and development tools
- Cloudinary: Image storage and processing (profile photos and images you upload)
- Spotify: Optional content links (if you interact with Spotify playlists or podcasts through the Service)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:- Provide and Maintain the Service: Create and manage your account, facilitate matching with other users, and enable communication features
- Personalize Your Experience: Show you compatible matches based on your preferences and assessment results
- Facilitate Matching: Use your profile information, preferences, and assessment results to suggest potential matches
- Location and Distance: When you have enabled location-based features, use your location (city or optional GPS coordinates) to calculate and display approximate distance between you and other users, and to show your city and distance on your profile to others (when you have chosen to show location and distance)
- Enable Communication: Allow you to send messages, likes, and compatibility invitations to other users
- Send Notifications: Deliver push notifications about matches, messages, likes, and other relevant updates (based on your preferences)
- Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, identify technical issues, and enhance features
- Ensure Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with Legal Obligations: Meet legal requirements and respond to legal requests
- Track Activity: Monitor account activity to enforce data retention policies
- Safety and Moderation: Review reports, enforce community standards, take action on reported users (including warnings, content removal, or account suspension), manage blocks so blocked users do not appear in your discovery, matches, or messages, and filter user-generated content (e.g. profile text and messages) for inappropriate language before it is saved or sent
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 With Other Users
When you use the Service, certain information is visible to other users:- Profile Information: Your profile details, photos, and assessment results (based on your visibility settings)
- Location and Distance: When you have enabled "Show location and distance on profile," your city and approximate distance (e.g. "12 km away") may be visible to other users on your profile
- Matching Information: Your compatibility with other users, likes, and matches
- Communication: Messages you send to other usersYou can control the visibility of your profile information through privacy settings in the app.
4.2 With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Service:- Clerk: Authentication and user management
- Convex: Database and backend infrastructure

5.1 Data Storage
Your information is stored securely in our Convex database. Sensitive authentication data is managed by Clerk. Images are stored using Cloudinary's secure cloud storage.5.2 Security MeasuresWe implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:- Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS

- We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.Inactive Accounts:
- If your account has not been updated (no activity recorded in lastSeen field) for 60 days, we may delete your account and all associated data, including:
- Profile information
- Messages
- Likes and matches
- Assessment results
- Reflection responses
- All other user-generated contentAccount Deletion:
- When you delete your account (through Settings → Account Info → Delete Account), we immediately delete:
- Your account and profile information
- Your messages, likes, matches, and other user-generated content
- Your assessment results and reflection responses
- Your account from both Clerk (authentication) and our databaseAccount deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.Data Retention Summary:
- Active accounts: Data retained indefinitely while account is active
- Inactive accounts (60+ days): Account and data may be automatically deleted
- Deleted accounts: Data permanently deleted immediately upon account deletion
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Update
You can access and update your profile information, preferences, and settings at any time through the app's Settings page.
6.2 Account DeletionYou can delete your account at any time through Settings → Account Info → Delete Account. When you delete your account:- Your account and profile information will be permanently deleted
- Your messages, likes, matches, and other user-generated content will be deleted
- Your assessment results and reflection responses will be deleted
- Your account will be removed from both Clerk (authentication) and our databaseAccount deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
6.3 Notification Preferences
You can control push notification preferences through Settings → Notifications. You can enable or disable notifications for:
- Messages
- Likes
- Matches
- Reflection prompts
6.4 Profile VisibilityYou can control the visibility of your profile information through privacy settings, including which details are visible to other users.
6.5 Location and GeolocationYou can control how your location is used and shown through Settings → Matching & Discoverability:- Use location for distance: When on, your location (city or optional GPS) is used so we can calculate and show approximate distance between you and other users. When off, your position is not used for distance.
- Show location and distance on profile: When on, other users can see your city and approximate distance on your profile. When off, your location and distance are hidden from others.You can change these settings at any time. Turning them off stops use of your location for distance and/or hides your location and distance from others.
6.6 Report and BlockYou can report other users from their profile (e.g. via the menu → Report) by choosing a reason (harassment, spam, inappropriate content, fake profile, or other) and optionally adding a description. We use this information to review and take action in line with our Terms of Use. You can block other users from their profile (e.g. via the menu → Block); blocked users will not appear in your discovery, matches, or messages. You can view and unblock users in Settings. Report and block data are retained as needed for safety, moderation, and legal obligations.
6.7 Data PortabilityYou can request a copy of your data by contacting us at info@ihnner.com.6.8 Keep Your Account ActiveTo prevent automatic deletion due to inactivity, ensure you use the Service at least once every 60 days. Your lastSeen timestamp is automatically updated when you use the Service.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Spotify). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.
